Weekly Technical Spotlight

📊 StockInsight™ Weekly Technical Spotlight

3 Stocks. 3 Setups. 1 Technical Edge.

Weekly Free Report | August 8, 2026

Markets rarely offer the same type of opportunity everywhere.

Some stocks are already demonstrating strong momentum. Others are approaching an important reversal point. And some may have attractive stories but charts that are telling traders to stay cautious.

This week’s StockInsight™ Weekly Trade Radar focuses on three very different situations:

🚀 Momentum Setup — CDE

🎯 Reversal Setup — CAVA

⚠️ Breakdown & Risk Setup — BWXT

The objective isn’t to predict what happens next with certainty.

It is to identify where the technical setup becomes interesting—and what needs to happen before the trade becomes actionable.

🚀 1. MOMENTUM SETUP

CDE — Coeur Mining

🥇 Precious Metals Momentum Meets Technical Recovery

Setup: Bullish continuation / breakout

Bias: 🟢 Bullish

CDE is this week’s momentum candidate because the stock is sitting at the intersection of two powerful forces: precious-metals strength and improving company fundamentals.

The company has benefited from higher gold and silver prices, while its 2026 production outlook remains substantial. Q1 revenue reached $856 million, more than doubling year over year, while adjusted EBITDA reached a record $475 million. Coeur also reaffirmed 2026 production guidance. (Reddit)

More recently, CDE has again attracted strong buying interest. The stock surged on August 7 as a weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs report increased expectations for easier Federal Reserve policy, a backdrop that can be supportive for precious metals. (Benzinga)

🔍 Why We Like the Setup

The interesting part isn’t simply that CDE is rising.

It’s that the stock has a potential catalyst + sector tailwind + momentum combination.

Earlier technical readings showed ADX above 20, indicating that a meaningful trend was developing, while the stock had been trading below several longer-term moving averages. (Investing.com)

That creates an important technical question:

Can CDE convert its recent strength into a sustained breakout rather than another short-term spike?

🎯 Trade Setup

Trigger:
📈 Look for a decisive break above the recent swing high with expanding volume.

Confirmation:
✅ Price holds above the breakout level
✅ Precious metals remain supportive
✅ Volume expands rather than contracts
✅ Momentum indicators continue improving

Upside Objective:
🎯 Use the next major resistance zone as the initial target, followed by a trailing-stop approach if momentum accelerates.

Invalidation:
🛑 A failed breakout followed by a decisive move back below the breakout zone.

🧠 StockInsight™ View

CDE is not a stock to chase simply because gold and silver are strong.

The better opportunity is a confirmed continuation setup.

If price breaks resistance on strong participation, the combination of commodity momentum and improving company fundamentals could provide fuel for another leg higher.

Setup Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

🎯 2. REVERSAL SETUP

CAVA — CAVA Group

🔄 A Potential Turning Point After a Major Reset

Setup: Pullback → reversal

Bias: 🟡 Neutral / Watching for Bullish Confirmation

CAVA is a very different opportunity.

The stock has experienced a substantial decline from its highs, with recent reporting noting that shares were down roughly 37% from their peak despite continued traffic and revenue growth. (TIKR.com)

That makes CAVA interesting—not because the stock is automatically cheap, but because expectations and price action may be approaching an inflection point.

Recent technical readings showed RSI around the mid-50s and ADX near 39, indicating that the stock had been experiencing a meaningful trend rather than simply drifting sideways. At the same time, MACD remained negative. (Investing.com)

That combination creates an important setup:

The stock has already experienced significant damage, but the chart has not yet completely confirmed a new bullish trend.

🔍 Why We Like the Setup

CAVA’s fundamentals remain interesting.

The company previously guided for 74–76 new restaurant openings in 2026, same-restaurant sales growth of 3%–5%, and adjusted EBITDA of $176–184 million. (s202.q4cdn.com)

But the market is clearly demanding evidence that growth can continue.

That means the technical setup becomes particularly important.

🎯 Trade Setup

Trigger:
📈 Wait for CAVA to reclaim short-term resistance and establish a higher low.

Confirmation:
✅ Higher low forms
✅ Price reclaims short-term moving averages
✅ MACD turns positive
✅ Volume expands on the recovery
✅ Previous resistance becomes support

Upside Objective:
🎯 First target = previous swing resistance.

If momentum continues, the next objective would be the larger overhead resistance zone created during the previous decline.

Invalidation:
🛑 A break below the newly established reversal low.

⚠️ What We Don’t Want

The biggest mistake here would be:

Buying simply because the stock has already fallen a lot.

A stock can remain weak for much longer than expected.

The trade becomes interesting only when price confirms that buyers are returning.

🧠 StockInsight™ View

CAVA is a classic “don’t catch the falling knife” situation.

The fundamental growth story makes the stock worth watching, but the chart needs to prove that the selling phase is ending.

We’re looking for:

Base → Higher Low → Breakout → Confirmation

—not simply:

Big Decline → Buy

Setup Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

⚠️ 3. BREAKDOWN & RISK SETUP

BWXT — BWX Technologies

🚨 Strong Fundamental Story — Weak Technical Structure

Setup: Failed recovery / bearish breakdown

Bias: 🔴 Bearish Until Proven Otherwise

BWXT is perhaps the most interesting stock of the three because its fundamental story and technical picture are moving in different directions.

The company operates in nuclear technology and has benefited from growing government and commercial demand. Earlier 2026 reporting highlighted strong earnings, a 50% increase in backlog, and 2026 guidance of $4.55–$4.70 EPS on $3.75 billion of revenue. (Barron’s)

Analyst sentiment has also remained bullish, with a recent report citing a Buy consensus and a $255 average target. (Reddit)

But the chart tells a different story.

📉 Technical Warning

Recent technical readings showed:

🔴 RSI around 42

🔴 MACD negative

🔴 Stochastic indicators bearish

🔴 Price below the 20-, 50-, 100- and 200-day moving averages

🔴 ADX around 25, suggesting the developing trend has enough strength to matter

The technical summary was therefore strongly bearish despite the company’s attractive fundamental narrative. (Investing.com)

This is exactly the kind of conflict StockInsight™ wants to identify.

🎯 Trade Setup

Bearish Trigger:
📉 A decisive break below established support with increasing volume.

Confirmation:
✅ Lower high develops
✅ Support breaks
✅ Selling volume expands
✅ -DI remains dominant
✅ ADX rises while the bearish trend strengthens

Downside Objective:
🎯 First target = next major support zone.

A second target can be established if the initial breakdown accelerates.

Invalidation:
🛑 A decisive reclaim of broken support followed by a sustained move back above short- and medium-term moving averages.

💡 The Important Distinction

This isn’t necessarily saying:

“BWXT is a bad company.”

Quite the opposite.

The fundamental story remains compelling.

The technical message is:

“The market hasn’t confirmed that story in the price yet.”

That distinction is extremely important for traders.

A strong company can have a weak chart.

And a weak chart can remain weak despite excellent long-term fundamentals.

🧠 StockInsight™ View

BWXT belongs on the watchlist, not the chase list.

Until the technical structure improves, traders should respect the downside risk.

A recovery above key moving averages could completely change the setup.

Until then:

Fundamentals = 🟢

Technical Structure = 🔴

Trade Setup = ⚠️ Wait for confirmation

Setup Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

🧠 STOCKINSIGHT™ WEEKLY VERDICT

Three stocks.

Three completely different situations.

🚀 CDE

The Momentum Candidate

The stock we’d watch for a confirmed continuation breakout.

🎯 CAVA

The Reversal Candidate

The stock we’d watch for evidence that buyers are finally taking control.

⚠️ BWXT

The Risk Candidate

The stock where the technical picture is warning traders not to confuse a great company with a great trade right now.

🎯 THE STOCKINSIGHT™ RULE

The goal of this report isn’t to tell investors:

“Buy these three stocks.”

It’s to identify:

“Here is where the chart becomes interesting.”

That distinction is fundamental to the StockInsight™ approach.

A setup isn’t a trade until the market confirms it.

📈 Momentum needs confirmation.

🔄 Reversals need confirmation.

📉 Breakdowns need confirmation.

🛡️ Risk management always comes first.

📌 THIS WEEK’S WATCHLIST

🚀 CDE

Wait for: Breakout + volume
Setup: Bullish continuation

🎯 CAVA

Wait for: Higher low + resistance reclaim
Setup: Reversal

⚠️ BWXT

Wait for: Support breakdown or technical recovery
Setup: Bearish / risk

🔥 StockInsight™ Bottom Line

The best trade isn’t necessarily the stock with the strongest story.

It is the stock where price action, momentum, volume and market context begin telling the same story.

This week’s three names demonstrate exactly that:

CDE → Follow strength

CAVA → Wait for the turn

BWXT → Respect the weakness

Trade the setup. Not the story.
