Weekly Technical Spotlight
📊 StockInsight™ Weekly 3-Stock Radar — August 31–September 4, 2026
🎯 My three picks for next week
🚀 DELL — Momentum / Earnings Breakout
🔄 PANW — Breakout Continuation / Trend
⚠️ AVGO — Breakdown / Contrarian
And I particularly like this combination because all three have major catalysts during the week.
🚀 1. DELL — THE MOMENTUM PLAY
🖥️ Dell Technologies — AI Infrastructure Meets Earnings
Ticker: DELL
Setup: 🚀 Momentum
Bias: 🟢 Bullish, but confirmation required
Catalyst: Earnings
Earnings: September 1
Risk: Extremely high expectations
This is my #1 stock for next week.
And there’s a very good reason.
Dell isn’t really being valued like the old PC company anymore.
The market increasingly sees Dell as an AI infrastructure and data-center beneficiary.
That’s a huge change.
Dell has already gained roughly 235% in 2026, and expectations heading into earnings are extremely high. Analysts are looking for revenue growth of more than 50%, with AI servers and infrastructure remaining major growth drivers. (MarketWatch)
But here’s where it gets interesting.
🔥 The Chart Has a Problem — and an Opportunity
DELL closed Friday at $456.24, down 3.39%.
It’s also about 11% below its August 13 52-week high of $514. (MarketWatch)
That’s actually what makes the setup interesting.
We’re not chasing a stock at the absolute high.
We’re watching whether earnings can reignite the trend.
🎯 My Setup
The ideal sequence:
Earnings
⬇️
📈 Gap higher
⬇️
📊 Strong volume
⬇️
🛡️ Gap holds
⬇️
🚀 Break above recent resistance
That’s the Gap & Go setup.
But there’s another possibility.
⚠️ The Earnings Trap
DELL has already had an enormous run.
Expectations are elevated.
The market is reportedly pricing a potential ~10% earnings move, roughly equivalent to a range around $413–$506. (Investopedia)
So:
Great earnings ≠ automatically bullish stock.
The numbers can be fantastic and the stock can still sell off if investors expected something even better.
🧠 StockInsight™ Trigger
🟢 Bullish: Gap above resistance + hold + volume.
🟡 Neutral: Gap higher followed by immediate reversal.
🔴 Bearish: Earnings gap fails and price breaks the pre-earnings support zone.
⭐ StockInsight™ Score
Momentum: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Catalyst: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Risk/Reward: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Volatility: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Verdict: 🚀 TOP PICK
🔄 2. PANW — THE TREND CONTINUATION PLAY
🛡️ Palo Alto Networks — Cybersecurity Is Having a Moment
Ticker: PANW
Setup: 🔄 Trend continuation
Bias: 🟢 Bullish above support
Catalyst: Earnings
Earnings: September 1
Risk: Valuation / crowded positioning
This one is different.
While AI hardware has been struggling to maintain momentum, software and cybersecurity have been showing impressive relative strength.
That’s exactly the kind of sector rotation I want to exploit.
Palo Alto Networks has roughly doubled since the beginning of the year, driven by stronger cybersecurity spending and renewed confidence that AI may actually increase demand for security rather than simply disrupt software companies. (Investopedia)
🚀 But PANW Has Already Run
And that’s the problem.
The stock is not cheap.
The market is expecting a lot.
Current estimates call for approximately $3.35 billion in revenue, up around 30% year over year, while options markets imply an earnings move of roughly 8.5%. (Investopedia)
So this isn’t a “buy because cybersecurity is hot” trade.
It’s a trend-confirmation trade.
🎯 What I’m Watching
I want to see:
📈 Earnings beat
⬇️ Initial volatility
🛡️ Support holds
📈 Higher low
🚀 Breakout toward new highs
The most interesting scenario would actually be a small post-earnings pullback that refuses to break support.
That’s often much cleaner than chasing a +10% gap.
🔥 Why PANW Fits This Week
The broader market is becoming more selective.
Investors are rotating toward companies that can demonstrate:
✅ Real revenue growth
✅ Strong margins
✅ AI-related demand
✅ Recurring revenue
✅ Pricing power
Cybersecurity checks many of those boxes.
And if PANW breaks into new highs after earnings, the psychological effect could be powerful.
⚠️ What Would Invalidate It?
A large earnings gap followed by:
📉 Immediate rejection
📉 High volume selling
📉 Loss of the breakout zone
That would turn the setup from continuation into a possible exhaustion gap.
And that’s precisely why our StockInsight™ background knowledge on gaps matters here.

Valuation Risk: ⚠️⚠️⚠️
Verdict: 🔄 BEST TREND SETUP
⚠️ 3. AVGO — THE CONTRARIAN TRADE
🧠 Broadcom — The AI Trade’s Reality Check
Ticker: AVGO
Setup: ⚠️ Breakdown / reversal
Bias: 🔴 Bearish below resistance
Catalyst: Earnings + semiconductor sentiment
Earnings: September 2
Risk: Violent upside reversal
And now we get to my favorite contrarian setup.
Broadcom.
This is particularly interesting because the AI infrastructure story is still extremely strong.
But the stock isn’t behaving like a stock that investors are blindly chasing anymore.
AVGO has been under pressure heading into earnings, with semiconductor stocks also dealing with tariff uncertainty and concerns about how much optimism is already priced into AI infrastructure names. (TradingView)
🧨 The NVIDIA Effect
This is where things get fascinating.
NVIDIA just delivered spectacular numbers.
Revenue reached $96.2 billion, up 106% year over year, and management projected roughly $108 billion of revenue for the next quarter. (Kiplinger)
Normally, that should be fantastic news for Broadcom.
But investors are asking a harder question:
If NVIDIA is this dominant, how much upside is actually left for the rest of the AI semiconductor ecosystem?
That’s the tension.
📉 The Setup
I want to see:
📈 Bounce
⬆️ Resistance test
❌ Failure
📉 Lower high
⬇️ Support breaks
🔴 Short-term downside continuation
This is classic StockInsight™ trend-confirmation trading.
Not:
“AVGO went down, therefore short it.”
Instead:
“AVGO bounced, failed to reclaim resistance, and then broke support.”
That’s much better.
🔥 Why AVGO Could Be Huge
Broadcom reports on September 2, and expectations are enormous.
One recent estimate puts the expected earnings move around 12%. (The Eastern Herald)
That creates a very asymmetric situation.
If AVGO disappoints:
📉 Semiconductor weakness could accelerate.
If AVGO delivers another monster quarter:
🚀 The entire AI infrastructure trade could reaccelerate.
That’s exactly what makes this a great weekly radar stock.
🧠 StockInsight™ Trigger
🔴 Bearish: Earnings reaction fails + lower high + support break.
🟡 Neutral: Large gap but no direction.
🟢 Bullish: Reclaims resistance with volume and invalidates the bearish structure.
If that happens, we don’t fight it.
The bearish thesis is simply wrong.

Verdict: ⚠️ BEST CONTRARIAN SETUP
🧩 Why These Three?
This is the part I really like about this week’s selection.
We’re not picking three stocks that all depend on the same outcome.
| Stock | Role | What We’re Looking For |
|---|---|---|
| 🚀 DELL | Momentum | Earnings breakout |
| 🔄 PANW | Trend | Continuation |
| ⚠️ AVGO | Contrarian | Breakdown |
That’s a much better three-stock teaser for your website.
It gives readers three completely different trade ideas.
📅 The Week’s Biggest Catalyst
🇺🇸 Friday — September 4
The U.S. jobs report could ultimately be even more important for the broader market than any individual earnings report.
Markets are currently pricing around a 57% probability of a September rate hike, according to Reuters’ latest report. A stronger-than-expected labor market could push rate expectations even higher. (Reuters)
That matters enormously for growth stocks.
📈 Strong Jobs
Potentially:
Yields ↑
→ Rate expectations ↑
→ Growth valuations pressured
→ Tech volatility ↑
📉 Weak Jobs
Potentially:
Yields ↓
→ Rate-hike expectations ↓
→ Growth stocks supported
→ Risk appetite ↑
So the week has a very interesting structure:
Tuesday: DELL earnings
Tuesday: PANW earnings
Wednesday: AVGO earnings
Friday: 🇺🇸 Jobs report
That’s a lot of ammunition.
🏆 StockInsight™ Weekly Ranking
🥇 DELL — 🚀 Momentum
My favorite setup
The AI infrastructure story meets a potentially explosive earnings catalyst.
Trade idea: Buy strength after confirmation.
🥈 PANW — 🔄 Trend Continuation
My favorite quality trend
Cybersecurity remains one of the strongest software themes.
Trade idea: Buy a confirmed breakout or successful post-earnings retest.
🥉 AVGO — ⚠️ Contrarian
My favorite bearish setup
The AI infrastructure trade is being asked to justify increasingly aggressive expectations.
Trade idea: Short only after technical confirmation.
💡 The StockInsight™ Rule This Week
Here’s the important part.
I would not enter any of these simply because they’re on this list.
They’re on the list because they have interesting setups.
The actual trade comes later.
🚀 DELL
Let it prove the breakout.
🔄 PANW
Let it prove the trend.
⚠️ AVGO
Let it prove the breakdown.
And if the market gives us none of those confirmations?
We do nothing.
That’s not missing an opportunity.
That’s discipline.
🎯 Final Take
Next week’s three-stock radar is therefore:
🚀 DELL — Momentum
🔄 PANW — Continuation
⚠️ AVGO — Breakdown
I particularly like this trio for the StockInsight™ free weekly report because each stock teaches the reader something different:
DELL demonstrates the Gap & Go / earnings momentum concept.
PANW demonstrates trend continuation and relative strength.
AVGO demonstrates exhaustion, failed breakouts and bearish confirmation.
So it’s not just three stock picks.
It’s also a mini StockInsight™ trading lesson every week. 📚📈
And that’s what I’d make the recurring feature: three stocks, three setups, one clear trading lesson.
