Introduction
My website offers you a lot of information that you won’t find anywhere else in this form. But if you are looking for current stock market prices with detailed charts etc., then there are plenty of sites on the Internet for this, I don’t have to do that too. In the web tips section, we want to introduce you to interesting, high-quality and mostly free websites that will certainly be useful to you.
New articles will be added to the section regularly. Please note that although many of the offers presented are free of charge, there are also paid versions of many of them, which of course have considerably more functions. We will limit ourselves to the free versions, but you are of course free to subscribe to the premium versions and benefit from a wide range of additional options.

Details
The website tipranks.com is a somewhat different kind of web service for investors. Unlike many other services, this one does not provide you with countless stock charts etc., but instead focuses on analysts, of which there are of course thousands at major banks, brokerage firms and other financial institutions. However, it is undisputed that analyst recommendations (i.e. upgrades) or downgrades can influence the share price, at least in the short term. This depends on the importance of the institution, the analyst’s previous performance and the analyst’s commentary on the new rating of a company.
So if an important analyst from, let’s say JPMorgan Chase, raises the price target of a share from US$ 50 to US$ 70 and issues a buy recommendation, this will normally raise the price immediately. If you now receive such analyst recommendations in your mailbox practically in real time, this can give you a certain advantage and you can “ride the wave”, as they say. Incidentally, we also provide you with a service in this direction that delivers the relevant up/downgrades of the day.

If you click on “Top Experts” at the top, a list will popup that looks similar to this. But as you can see, with the free plan, most details are locked out. But you get the idea of what you would get with a subscription.

Some nice features are for instance that you can see which hedge funds own shares (with total value). You can display insider transactions (premium only), charts (also available as a PDF download in the free version), dividend information, quarterly figures and also the latest news. As said before, some little content freely accessible like “Technicals”, “Stock Buybacks”, “Ownership” (partially) or “Earnings”. Worth mentioning is the “Technical Analysis” which contains investor sentiment for different timelines, from 1 minute up to 1 month, visually appealing and informative.
Another great feature is the “Stock Analysis”, which provides a good overview of the current “sentiment”, i.e. the perception of the company.
If you have several shares, you can also create your own Portfolio Analysis of your shares. I have created a simple example with Coca-Cola and Microsoft. The integrated stock screener focuses mainly on facts such as sentiment (perception), price targets, etc., and less on technical indicators like other stock screeners and thus offers real added value (some indicators only available in the Pro version).
Premium version
The premium versions (see screenshot above) cost at least a whopping US$30 a month, which means you’re looking at a hefty US$360 a year. That’s quite expensive, even if you get analyst information that is hardly available anywhere else, at least not to this level of detail.
Some features you’ll get are:
- Notifications for new upgrades/downgrades. The free version often only displays a few entries. The Pro version gives you full access to all details
- For the professional investor who also trades in real time, the investment can quickly pay off.
- The basic version offers enough information for the “basic hobby investor”.
Our own service with upgrades/downgrades could be helpful for you - There is also an Ultimate service. This costs around 50 US$ per month. This gives you more export options (Excel) and even more detailed analyst insights as well as a near real-time email alert on upgrades/downgrades (for me the only real reason to order the Ultimate version). However, the price of 600 US$/year is very steep.
Conclusion
As already mentioned, the prices really are “premium”. You get a mass of information that is by no means available elsewhere in this level of detail and quality. TipRanks is certainly in a gap in the market here, and they are paying well for it. The basic version offers enough information for beginners and slightly advanced traders to get an idea of a stock. Those who really want to trade actively and also have the money and time to spend several hours at your computer will appreciate the premium versions. They provide insights that can also directly generate profits through the aforementioned price jumps that such analyst recommendations entail.
The website is also pleasant to use, fast, clear and easy to understand. The design is modern and clean.
