How to day trade for a living

How to day trade for a living

Introduction

This book deals with a special part of share trading, namely day trading. This involves buying and selling shares at a profit on the same day, sometimes within minutes. Author Andrew Aziz has probably published the best book on the subject. At a good 200 pages, the length is bearable and with a bit of an effort readable on a quiet weekend.

Book content

The book not only contains important insights into tools and software, but also uses illustrated examples to explain real cases with actual data. Day trading is not about fundamental data of a company such as profit etc., but purely about technical indicators such as support and resistance zones, important candlestick formations and similar in order to recognize possible entry and exit points.

Various such technical indicators are explained in great detail in the book. What I particularly like is that he also deals with topics that are often forgotten at the beginning. Risk management, basic trading principles, trader psychology (we will cover this in detail in later tips), how to get started as a trader, etc. Real tips from everyday life are shown briefly but very impressively. Just as an example, a proper workplace and discipline are mentioned here. For some, this may sound a little out of touch, but after reading this book you will think differently.

The writing style is relaxed, yet professional, you can tell he has experience, yet nothing comes across as preachy, he wants to lead the reader to success in a sympathetic way.

However, the book is suitable for anyone who wants to learn about trading. It offers a good fusion of theory and practice, and above all it contains a good dose of self-irony and humor, but also realism. Unlike other books, it doesn’t just praise its own system to the skies, but also offers critical advice that will save you from costly mistakes. This is what a real guidebook should be like!

Incidentally, the author also has his own website. Here you can buy a subscription (for a fee) to get live access. This allows you to follow live which shares he buys/sells and, of course, chat with other participants. In terms of price, it is one of the cheapest providers in this area. The website is called BearBullTraders.
You can also contact the author at any time. If you let him know that you have bought his book, he will certainly be happy to help you.

Conclusion

Very suitable for beginners and advanced traders (see note below) who are looking for an introduction to stock market trading and especially day trading.

Note: There is another book by this author entitled “Advanced Techniques in Day Trading” (ISBN: 1721151265, Amazon). This is considerably more comprehensive (over 400 pages) and covers many techniques in even more detail and with more examples.
